The Men’s Group Will Continue to Meet During the Summer
We will meet each Wednesday throughout the Summer months. Come if you can. We have a new devotional style book that we will begin in a couple of weeks that should open up the discussion a little more and allow us to tackle those “tough” questions that most men don’t want to ask, and even more don’t want to answer. It should continue to be a great time of fellowship and accountability for all the men in our church. And, bigger than our church, all men in our community are invited to come. Bring a friend – everyone is always welcome. It costs nothing to be a part of our group. We hope to see you there!

This week we’ll be exploring Chapter Three – Cultural Christianity vs Biblical Christianity. We will look at how society has changed our view of the Bible and what we believe. We will also discuss our culture and look at several quotes from the last few days and see how they relate to what scripture actually says. You will be surprised to learn what we are teaching our children (and adults) vs. what the Bible really says. The format will be the same as the first two weeks, we will read a little and then discuss a little. So bring a friend to share thoughts and opinions.

First Class
We had our first Man in the Mirror bible study on Wed the 19th and had a great turnout. As a matter of fact more men showed up than expected and we had to order more books this weekend. We are looking forward to seeing our numbers grow as the fall bible study continues. Currently we are meeting in the Taliferro House but we may out grow it soon. We will keep you posted.
Harry Hudson led the first class in a discussion about keeping up with the rat race – a race that nobody has ever won. Why do we get caught up in this idea of more, more, more? Society? TV? Marketing? The answer is all of the above and we had a good lesson and discussion about what we can do to avoid the pitfalls of letting money and posessions run our lives.

Wed Nite Begins August 19th – Be There!
We eat supper at 5:30pm and our Bible study is from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
A men’s only Bible study will be led by Harry Hudson, Chris Huskins, and Marty Phillips. The title of the study is “Man in the Mirror” and is based on a book written by Patrick Morley. You can visit his site at www.maninthemirror.org to learn more about the content.
